R.Hotzenplotz30 Sep 2018 20:20Hi!
We still need flooring for our rooftop terrace. According to the technical drawing, it can be up to 2cm (0.8 inches) thick.
Our rooftop terrace is not used often, mostly for hanging laundry rather than for spending time there. Therefore, the design is not very important to us; durability and especially ease of maintenance are our main priorities. If we can avoid problems, we don’t mind using a material that isn’t the cheapest, despite the limited use. We don’t really like concrete paving slabs with joints – that’s what we currently have, and weeds grow everywhere through the gaps. Maybe there are other options that reduce this problem?
As the diagram shows, besides the flooring, a drainage mat and a layer of gravel are also part of the owner’s scope of work. This rules out many companies, so can this only be done by a landscaper or a roofer? In your opinion, who should we contact to get a quote?
My parents have Bangkirai wood but say that despite regular scrubbing, the color has faded. They wouldn’t recommend it to us.

If you follow your diagram, probably only panels remain, but on a gravel base? That sounds "odd."

Try searching for Schlüter-troba.
Anyone who can build a balcony can do this. Roofers, for example.
