This is an absolute dream home, extremely stylish! I’m convinced that anyone who expresses it differently is just pure envy.I wouldn’t go that far. Some like it, others prefer more traditional gable houses. Just because I don’t like elaborate town villas with pomp and splendor doesn’t mean I’m jealous.
So if someone sees it as clean and uninviting, they don’t have to be jealous; it’s just their opinion. They’re not exactly wrong, it’s just that aesthetes tend to see it more positively.

Although I didn’t express a different opinion, I certainly wouldn’t be jealous of this house. However, I can imagine that other people might find it beautiful. I really like the walnut furniture, but I would never have chosen the identical tiles everywhere. Also, the kitchen seems to be planned “in the way” for me, judging by the photos. But that definitely doesn’t make me jealous. I don’t think I could sleep well in a house like that, partly because of the large amount of materials used for such a big house. That wouldn’t feel right to me personally. Being jealous means wanting to be able to have or do something like that. By saying that, you’re attributing something to the readers or to me that I can certainly rule out for myself.Still, I wish the owners lots of enjoyment in their new home. I’m sure it will look quite different once it’s fully furnished and lived in.
A bit off-topic: Envy is one of those feelings that doesn’t bring any real benefit to anyone. I don’t understand why I should feel envious of someone who might be building a bigger house or earning more income. It doesn’t give me anything, nor does it make me more "valuable" or anything like that. The only person who ends up worse off is me, because if I don’t wish others well, I develop negative emotions.
The house would definitely appeal to my youngest son, while the other two prefer something more like a colorful villa. I like it, even though it’s probably not the way I would want to live.

I find this common interpretation of envy somewhat misguided. There is actually a much better word for it: resentment.
Envy, in its true sense—that is, wishing to have something someone else has—is not necessarily negative. It simply means you would like to have what the other person has or can do. In some cases, it even motivates you to work harder to achieve the same.
I believe envy has a much worse reputation than it deserves. When I see someone with a house like that, I do feel envious. But I don’t wish for that person to lose it, nor do I think they don’t deserve it (at least in most cases), since I usually have no way to judge that.
In the few cases where I know the people don’t deserve it (for example, the few hundred super-rich), it’s more a sense of justice that kicks in rather than pure resentment. I don’t want them to simply lose their wealth; I wish it would be used for something good—welfare, nature, and animal protection.
As for the house itself: it’s definitely cool, but how do you keep it that way? Around here, it would be filled up in no time.

derdietmar24 Feb 2024 19:11Hello,
I can already see that the house is being perceived quite controversially.
The windows were custom-made by a carpenter. The aluminum profiles come from a local company (as do almost all the other materials used in the house). This is the only way to realize special solutions like the horizontal and vertical window bands (see photo of the exterior) with aluminum panels.
Keeping things tidy isn’t that difficult when you have plenty of storage and living space. We also live a minimalist lifestyle and don’t like a cluttered environment with many elements, materials, and decorations. A simple and orderly setting naturally encourages maintaining cleanliness, which usually even works with the children without much effort.
Best regards
