Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

@OWLer think about what you want to do on this peninsula. Do you have a cooktop or a sink there? If you cook there, you’ll often place cutlery, a cutting board, or other items next to the cooktop. If there’s an outlet there, the bowl might wobble when you put it down or liquid could get inside. When cooking, you usually place things on both sides, so an outlet would be in the way. If you have a sink there, I wouldn’t even consider having an outlet.

I only have a cooktop on the peninsula. The distance from the wall with the outlets to the edge of the cooktop is about 75–80cm (30–31.5 inches). If I place the outlets on the front panel, the distance is about 60cm (24 inches).

I think I’ll just leave it out. I don’t really want outlets on that surface due to wobbling, water splashes, or the potential for accidents.

And the stair cupboards in the attic in the bedroom and children’s room have also been completed.

May I ask who made the stair cupboards and what the approximate cost was? We are considering a closed staircase for the hallway to be able to do something similar. But apart from Pinterest images, I haven’t found much.
Is this usually done only by a local carpenter or joiner?

Thank you.
@OWLer the island is 2.50 m (8 feet 2 inches). Definitely go for it. Especially to avoid having to clear anything off the countertop if the cable would otherwise hang across the island.

I like the kitchen.
What is the depth of the island? I guess less than 100 cm (39 inches)?

One cost about €7,000 (around $7,800). And yes, they were made by a cabinetmaker.

The island is 1.10m (43 inches) deep.

I also like the kitchen. I would have preferred a dark kitchen, but unfortunately, my wife was strictly against it. 🙁

But the 2 GT2 units spaced about 1m (3 feet) apart are impressive. @Tarnari 😉

That’s one GT2 and one control center.
The electrician thought it was great, I didn’t really think about it. xD
