Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Even though we finished a few days ago, yesterday we managed to take a cool snapshot of our house almost in the center.

Next time, have the gutters installed on the inside.

Do you mean the downspouts?

Why? They look nice as they are!

How is the downpipe connected at the top? Is something missing, or am I just not seeing it?

It is a flat roof... I mean, you can just barely see the transition to the wall in the picture.

Typically, when connecting the downpipe from a flat roof, there is a box (gutters box, water collection box) (Google image search "downpipe flat roof"). I don’t see one here and would appreciate some technical clarification! (I know, this is a picture thread ... :rolleyes

Simply put... without a box.

The drainage, as probably expected, is located on the roof, and the runoff flows from the facade backwards into the downpipe. The visible exterior part is just extended longer. The top 20cm (8 inches) of the downpipe are practically non-functional.
