With new construction, the individual steps are usually clearly defined; however, with renovating an older building, you can encounter quite a few surprises.
The plan was to replace the insulation from above, as it seemed easier. No such luck – over the years, various critters had made themselves comfortable in the insulation. The smell was enough to make you want to run away.
