Hello everyone,

What options or mounts are available for installing a satellite dish on a flat roof (timber frame construction)? I know of mounts that are weighted down with four concrete slabs. Has anyone had experience with how resistant such mounts are to wind? Also, how to ensure that the waterproofing underneath is not damaged. Or is there a better solution?

How should cable routing be done? Are there good roof penetrations that can be made and remain permanently watertight? Or is it better to feed the cables through the wall?

Thank you very much

What speaks against the traditional bracket for mounting on the facade, which is instead screwed from the inside onto the parapet?

For standing installations, there are posts available with the option for weighting.
Everything else involves penetrating the roof – which I would have reservations about.

If possible, I would also anchor them to the wall. I don't think drilling through a flat roof additionally is the best solution...

Screwing it to the wall is not liked by the lady in the house, as it is too visible from the terrace. And I don’t want to put it on the roof because it is too difficult to access there.

Tell her there might be issues with the airtightness, and that’s that...

I will not drill through the flat roof membrane. The question is how well those posts work that are simply placed on the roof and weighted down with concrete slabs.
