This happens more often than you might think... and usually, no lawyer is needed... it is typically resolved within a few days... many people even notice it themselves, so there is often no need to make a complaint.

I also need to apologize... I didn’t mean to write “slapped together” 🙂

Downpipe Fauxpas is probably more accurate.

What also looks funny is that the gutter at the top is galvanized (speckled) and at the bottom it’s polished. (I guess that’s called titanium zinc…) It somehow doesn’t match.

Our architect is definitely needed. I should have contacted them months ago. Unfortunately, I was too trusting…

Best regards

That’s actually normal... just wait a few months and you will have an even gray color everywhere...

The pipe is simply fresh from the factory and the other one has aged a bit...

Whether you need a building permit / planning permission in your case, I can’t judge. I was referring only to the specific case you described here.

Such a minor detail is completely routine and will be corrected without hesitation and without a building permit / planning permission, and sometimes without the homeowner even noticing.

Dear Mycraft, I don’t have minor complaints.... I had an expert inspect the house. The house is a wreck, and he estimates we have 2 years left, hence the lawyer...

You have often mentioned that it is junk! What exactly is being criticized? What is irreparable?

That doesn't sound good at all. And now you're asking about the downpipe as well?

Would you maybe like to provide a bit more detail about your overall situation? I wish you the best of luck and hope you still have some fun with your new house.
