Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

After May 2015:

If I understood correctly, this helps not only with noise but also with the floor’s vibration.

Basically, it’s somewhat the same thing because impact sound mainly comes from floor vibrations rather than the noise of stamping. However, for vibration damping, dry, loosely stacked small-format bricks without mortar are likely only moderately effective. From your timber house builder (what can you actually carpentry with at Stauden, or is that just a surname?), I would have expected them to tinker with something like high-pressure laminating of fiberboard or similar. But using stone when they normally do "everything" in wood is a bit surprising to me.

Have you ever heard of drainage concrete or single-grain mortar?

Yes, but that does not change the fact that it eliminates the cost advantage again and would therefore be completely pointless.

Hi everyone,

Here’s a quick update: the garage door is finally installed, so the garage is almost finished except for the floor coating. I can now start moving some stuff up to the garage attic.
Other than that, we have finished installing the suspended ceilings, and on Wednesday the drywall sheets will go up. Some rooms have already been cleaned in the meantime.

Good luck

What kind of room is shown in the first picture?

It looks very oppressive.

Bedroom, but that’s misleading. If only the bed is placed in it later, the room is about 14m² (150 sq ft).

Hm, what might be problematic is that the bottom of the garage door extends beyond the door itself... I am used to the bottom being slightly recessed so that rainwater, etc., can drain away without flowing into the garage.
