Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Can someone please explain the disadvantages of floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper floor? Let’s not stay ignorant.

We don’t want you to die ignorant, but happy.

Just kidding, the only "disadvantage" so far has been that my wife forced me to buy a pleated blind for the window before we even moved in, because otherwise you could look into the bathroom from below. Oh, and cleaning is a bit more time-consuming because the lower part is fixed in our case.

Other than that, I’m really happy with the windows.

We have a floor-to-ceiling window in the bathroom (~2x2m (6.5x6.5 ft)), fixed glazing with external venetian blinds. Frosted window film is applied up to the middle. I would do it the same way again.

From where to the middle? Upper half or lower half?

Of course, at the top

It's a little more than half.

Modern bathroom: freestanding bathtub, pendant lamp with rope, branch decoration, and window

That’s all correct, but since I come from a family that never had a car parked in the garage, it’s more like our alternative basement. I actually don’t know it any other way. Apart from bicycles and my motorcycle, nothing drivable will probably ever go in there. Oh, and the door leads to the utility room.

That’s quite an attitude. Hooray, hooray, hooray.
