No need to be jealous!
It’s not that big; it only extends about half a meter (1.5 feet) above the roof ridge as required here. It just looks bigger due to the perspective and the point where the chimney emerges from the roof. The latter is because of the stove’s position in the living room.

So quite a lot has happened in 4 weeks, but there was easily 1.5 weeks of downtime in there, which could have sped things up quite a bit. From my perspective, still an enviable pace—at this point, you have definitely left me behind.

From the outside, there’s not much new to see at the moment. We’re currently waiting for the garage (delivery delayed by about 4 weeks) and still waiting for the plumber. The tiles were supposed to be installed this week on the ground floor—in the bathroom, guest toilet, and utility room—but this has also been postponed due to another construction project.
Anyway... tomorrow we plan to get the outdoor lighting and start painting next week.
We’ve now postponed our move to early September.
From the outside, there’s not much new to see at the moment. We’re currently waiting for the garage (delivery delayed by about 4 weeks) and still waiting for the plumber. We wish we were that far along as well!
Since the last picture here a few weeks ago:
- Ground floor exterior walls completed
- Ground floor ceiling poured – ventilation ducts embedded again
- Upper floor exterior walls nearly finished
- Drainage pipes installed and sewer connection made
- Strip foundations for the garage excavated and poured
- Garage slab prepared for pouring
- Foundation for the wall at the property boundary excavated and poured
Progress has been steady lately; before that, things were moving quite slowly.
We wish we were that far along as well!
