Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

That would also be something... kind of in the style of Hundertwasser.
It looks nice, I would choose that too!
Though my husband unfortunately doesn’t like those half-height windows.

Thank you

The windows are 1.01 meters (3 ft 4 in) high. So they are not narrow slit windows. They just appear narrow because they are also 2 meters (6 ft 6 in) wide (corner window 1.40 meters (4 ft 7 in)).
And I think they’re brilliant:
  • Upper floor left: children’s room, with an additional floor-to-ceiling window
  • Upper floor middle: hallway, where you can walk half-naked through without neighbors peeking in
  • Upper floor right: bathroom, frosted above the bathtub
  • Ground floor: study. You can’t see from the street if someone is sitting at the desk.

One might almost think it was all planned that way

Hundertwasser was the first thing that came to my mind as well.

This is also the reason why I prefer to install more half-height windows in the bedrooms on the upper floor – otherwise, I love full-height windows down to the floor.

At the back, we have floor-to-ceiling windows since it's only meadows and fields there.
