Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Oh, I’m jealous. We’re getting the plastering this week, house connections at the beginning of July, and then comes my nightmare—the screed. Nightmare because then nothing happens for 4 weeks or more... after that, there’s still flooring, painting, bathroom, and kitchen. And we were actually hoping to move in by September... it’s likely going to be tight.

Don’t worry about it... we had 4 months of construction delay due to winter. It’s really stressful! No progress at the building site. At least you have summer (though construction workers also have families and sometimes go on vacation) :-( But eventually, it will come to an end, just hang in there!

Vacation's over! Well, at least I got something done.

The substructure around the pond really tested my patience. But I hope it’s all right now.

The two small square walls are going to become a bench. I’m not entirely sure how yet, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out somehow.

Excavated pit at the edge of the terrace; boards, tools, and garden furniture ready.

Garden construction site: new patio made of paving stones being laid; wheelbarrow, cement mixer.

Landscaping: wheelbarrow with stones, stacked concrete blocks, construction timber on grass, house in background.

Trench with black membrane next to terrace; wheelbarrow, soil, wooden slats, and tiles.

Garden area with rectangular bed made of stone blocks next to terrace, soil filled in.

Bed made of concrete blocks with herbs right next to glass façade, garden furniture in background.

Shopping cart with fresh herb pots outdoors.

Modern glass veranda on the house; construction work in the yard, excavation pit, and wooden beams.

What kind of stones did you use for the edging? I really like them!

I want to add my good and encouraging wishes.
For us, almost nothing happened for two months as well. But now there is activity on the construction site every day. Our architect and project manager are doing their best to make up for the lost time as much as possible. Very commendable and builder-friendly! I hope everyone who experienced some delays can have similar positive experiences.

We are making progress as well...

I really like your tiles (and normally, I'm not a fan of "dark" wood)
