sebi77I hope I posted this topic in the right category?
A few months ago, a friend told me that not only diesel fuel was stolen from construction vehicles, but entire pallets of building materials as well. At the time, I thought it was a joke. Now I am personally affected and am at a loss for words given such audacity.
We are currently building a house, and the shell is already up. We didn’t think twice about leaving all the tools and building materials (bags of cement, glass wool insulation, bricks, etc.) stored inside the shell.
Now it’s gone... stolen during the night... and nobody saw or heard anything! 😡

Hello Sebi,
The theft on construction sites has been an issue for a long time here. We have already recorded several break-ins. Site trailers and containers are no longer safe either, as they are usually forced open. Some people wonder (and even find it amusing) why cement mixers are hung on cranes at some open construction sites.
By now, we have hired private security services... 😡

I have heard from acquaintances that even complete building materials like bricks, wood, or even construction machines have gone missing. You arrive at the construction site in the morning, ready to mix new cement, only to find that the mixer is gone. Nowadays, it seems you have to lock everything up and keep watch. Sad but true.
Best regards,
the DIY enthusiast

hi
It has even come to the point where items are being stolen from the construction site in broad daylight. The thieves are becoming increasingly bold. What I don’t understand is that this is happening right in the middle of the city, and no one sees anything. Either they work so skillfully that people who might notice assume they belong to the site, or people are simply turning a blind eye.
best regards, oobravo

Yes, I have also experienced that the thieves can come from within the team. This means that construction helpers are not always honest helpers. We once had someone on our site who regularly took tools like drill machines, grinders, etc. As it later turned out, he didn’t even keep them in his private workshop but sold them on eBay. 😡
