Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The large one is good. The smaller ones are just toys. We had three large ones... I bought them myself from Amazon and then resold them for about 80% of the original price. They had around 2000 hours of use.

Renting would have been significantly more expensive..

For us, renting is a good option since we can submit the costs to KfW and only pay 50%. The required heat exchangers were also included in the calculations, so the two smaller ones are sufficient. There are also fans in use as well.

The electrician, chimney installer, and floor layers have also been busy...

Oh, if only I had known about such a radio earlier. It would have been perfect for the two bathrooms. Now, unfortunately, it’s too late.

So, the exterior plastering on our house has now been completed. The color turned out to be a bit more purple than expected, but we really like it.

Most importantly, we are the only house that is not white. Currently, white plaster with anthracite windows is very common.

I see quite a few issues on the construction site. I hope the cable installation is not meant to remain like this permanently. What about the vapor barrier? It looks almost impossible to repair now.

Well, I’m glad to have dark windows and a white/gray façade.
It definitely wouldn’t be my style... I’d rather go with something more mainstream.

I’m getting tired of this anthracite craze.
Whether it’s windows, painted “masks” on the facade, or the paving... phew.

After a few years, once a gray film forms on the white plaster, these houses just end up looking dull and monotone. I think this will backfire in the long run.
