Hello,

I am planning to have several empty conduits installed in a new build (network, satellite, backup, etc.).
What is the approximate cost to install such conduit, or what have you paid?

Thank you!

Hello,
if you are having the conduit pipes installed, I would recommend pulling the cables through them at the same time.
A more cost-effective alternative is to cut the channels yourself and install the conduit pipes on your own.

I paid 3€/m for the plain M25 conduit in the ceiling (without chasing into the wall). The material cost is a maximum of 1€/m.

That’s too much, considering how quickly the work went.

Therefore, I installed the upper floor ceiling myself. The four of us laid almost 500m in one day.

My general contractor is currently charging 70€ per empty conduit end connected to an empty box.
This is a two-story semi-detached house in the countryside.
How and when did you install the conduits yourselves?
Did the general contractor raise any objections regarding delays to the construction schedule?

The question arises whether DIN 18015 implies a general requirement that certain cables (satellite, network, etc.) must be installed in conduits.

Were there no objections from the general contractor regarding construction delays?

I installed the empty conduits after placing the precast floor slabs and before casting the in-situ concrete.
There were no delays; the slabs were installed on Friday in coordination with the contractor, and the concrete was poured on Monday.

As it is usually done:

On one side, the conduit goes through the floor opening; on the other side, either into the ceiling box (for lighting, fire detectors, presence detectors) or a hole is drilled so that later you can reach down in the wall chase.

Construction site with reinforcement, numerous cables, and shell construction work on the foundation floor.

For the holes, suitable tools are recommended. I bought a Bosch rotary hammer in the 6kg (13lb) class, costing €500, which I had wanted for a long time anyway.

When laying conduits, you quickly accumulate meters. But to later fit an empty box, it takes at least twice as much work:

Drilling the box hole, chasing with a wall chaser, chiseling out, and plastering in the box:

Basement room in shell construction with concrete block walls, visible lines, and construction tools

All in all, this is not a job for someone with two left hands!
