Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Hell yeah!

Starting tomorrow, I can finally officially join the discussion in this thread! Hopefully, it will be all good and with as little poor workmanship as possible...

As I said, tomorrow is finally our house installation day. The first trailers out of a total of seven are already ready... after a two-year planning phase is coming to an end! I hope I’ll be able to get any sleep tonight at all before heading to the construction site at 4:30 am...

Wow, Christmas, a child’s birthday, and a confirmation all at the same time.

@KingSong
As a tip, take photos of every joint, cable, etc.

Bring chairs and refreshments for the team.

Our tiler has now started installing the pipe ducts and similar elements. From Wednesday, wall tiles are supposed to follow. We are really looking forward to that.

However, trouble is looming in paradise. Since we are building next to a district road, I need approval from the road construction authority for the driveway crossing. This was also indicated in the building permit / planning permission application, with only a note that it should be checked whether the access can avoid using the existing farm access road. Furthermore, the costs for the new driveway would be our responsibility and constitute a special use.

Now, however, the building authority no longer wants to approve the second driveway. Has anyone ever experienced a similar case?

If I understand correctly, the building was approved without this driveway permit already being in place, meaning the building authority considers the property sufficiently accessible from the agricultural road side. Is this actually not the case, or does it simply mean less convenient access for entering and exiting (regarding the parking spaces / garage)?

In principle, I initially see "no disadvantage" to not having direct access onto a roundabout road. Someone might quickly crash into your bumper there driving at 70 km/h (about 45 mph).

Is the district road located within the town or outside the built-up area? If it’s the latter, the road authority might strongly oppose it and, in my opinion, would likely be justified in doing so. (I assume that the building permit cannot include the special usage rights for the road, but I might still double-check this with the building department.)
