Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

After May 2015:

Thank you for the response!
In zone 2... I would currently prefer a width of 4m (13 feet), but with a third post, I would go for a width of 5m (16 feet).

But when, as in our case, the electrical wiring for the thermostats needs to be bypassed, he simply makes a loop.

Hello Axel,

the loop next to the outlet and the cable running upwards is borderline for me. Just check if the 10cm (4 inches) or the 30cm (12 inches) distance from the edge (20cm (8 inches) installation zone vertically) has been maintained, because if so, the cables are inside the installation zone.
Hello Tom1607,
today I walked through the entire house once again. The cable in the office room is the only one actually just outside the installation zone. So the picture I posted seems to have hit the mark exactly. And maybe I am somewhat responsible for the cable position, since I wanted the switches in the office as close as possible to the door frame in order to save space for shelves.

Hello 11ant,
yes, part of the cable now runs behind the door frame. Luckily, I took photos of every single cable and I will refer to them if I ever feel tempted to drive a nail into the wall near the installation zone (and I also have an appropriate detector in the toolbox).
Since the electrician only slightly left the installation zone in the office room, I suppose I should tolerate this cable position, which deviates from the standard. Otherwise, everything really seems to fit and he did a very neat job.

Best regards

Axel

yes, the cable is now partially routed behind the door frame.

In my opinion, this is not appropriate from a fire protection standpoint and could also be damaged during the installation of the door frame – hence the comment.
