Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Of course, concrete will be poured on top later – and beforehand, empty conduits for electrical wiring and ventilation will be installed.

We also had our topping-out ceremony today. The building stands on the neighbor’s half, but that doesn’t matter.
Congratulations to you as well

Does the steel frame need to be placed on the precast concrete elements?

I assume you are referring to a "filigree slab." In my opinion, the term is misleading because this type of slab is not actually thinner than other concrete slabs. What you see in the uncovered state is the reinforcement—laid within the portion of the slab thickness below the reinforcement. Then, on site, the "remaining" slab thickness is cast fresh in place, either as cast-in-place concrete or more commonly as ready-mix concrete. This method avoids the disadvantages of fully freshly prepared slabs cast entirely on site (notably the need to build formwork underneath) as well as those of fully precast slabs (notably their higher weight during transport). Otherwise, it is a concrete slab of the same type as the ones traditionally constructed.

Congratulations on the topping-out ceremony. What exactly have you organized there? Is something like that coming up for us in week 20?

On Wednesday, we will first celebrate the backfilling. Later, there will be last photos of the unfilled state.
