Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

After May 2015:

R. Hotzenplotz, you’re really making good progress. That’s how I would have liked it to be too.

Today, our basement was supposed to be insulated. However, the insulation contractor left again because the space between the slab and the ground wasn’t sufficient for him. The structural builders were supposed to fix that two weeks ago, and I even did some additional work myself last Saturday. But apparently, it still wasn’t enough.
I spoke with the construction manager today, and the structural builders are responsible for fixing it. Now it will be delayed by another two weeks...

We only experienced delays due to frost. Otherwise, progress is going well. They are even working on Saturdays. Now I am curious to see how they manage to build the ground floor / upper floor so quickly.

The shell of the building is usually completed quickly; what takes much longer is the interior finishing.

Dear friends of home building,

finally warm, finally dry, finally spring...

The basement waterproofing is making progress.

Best regards

Axel

AxelH., did they build above your basement without backfilling first? My "great" construction company insists on continuing masonry work only after backfilling is done. And since the insulation contractor didn’t waterproof it, it will probably take another 4 weeks.

For me, even the shell takes ages. :-(
