Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Hi, just as a side note: The roughly 60m² (650 sq ft) are not for “us” but for “me”...
Thanks, the curtain is enough. But it’s still the provisional one from 8 months ago until I find a nicer one 😉

I have a question about your shower solution. Is the shower curtain enough to prevent water from flooding outside the shower area? We might consider a similar setup but are unsure because several expert forums advise against it. Thanks in advance for your answer. 🙂

We have a tiled walk-in shower with only a shower curtain. There is no flooding outside the shower. You just need to make sure there is only a small gap between the curtain and the floor. Then it works well.

We have now experienced our first delay on the construction site. The floor insulation was not available, so work was halted for two weeks. Considering the overall construction pace, this is absolutely manageable.
From the outside, the house has been finished for weeks now (masonry work started on January 5). We really like the brickwork; the joints are done neatly. The photovoltaic system has been installed for a while, not with full black-black modules, but I still like how it looks.
The wiring is only for the ground floor; there is another technical room on the upper floor. The floor is currently covered with numerous cables, pipes, and conduits. Entering the construction site is quite difficult at the moment.
The tiles have been chosen to match the kitchen cabinets, ordered, affordable, and will arrive in two weeks.
Both the tilers and painters have availability within the right time frame. As good as it sounds, I hope it continues like this :-)

Unfertiger Innenraum mit Kabelbündeln und Rohren auf staubigem Boden vor einer weißen Tür.

Bodenfliesen-Muster: Holzoptik links, rostmetallische Fliesen in Mitte/Rechts, kleine Musterkarten.

@Ypsi aus NI The electrician apparently didn’t feel like running the cables through the ceiling and chasing into the calcium silicate bricks, right? 😀

They should go back on the roof again; it feels like about 20 more modules are still missing! ;-)

We have 43 modules, nearly 18 kWp.
Installing behind the chimney doesn’t make sense because of shading. The picture in the previous post shows the west side. The east side is fully covered on both sides, see this post. But I agree with you: a few more modules would have fit 😉
