@Ypsi aus NI It seems the electrician didn’t want to run the cables inside the ceiling or chase them into the calcium silicate blocks, right? 😀Actually, yes! All ceiling and wall lighting cables are installed inside the ceiling. The cables shown are only for the power outlets, as it’s shorter to run them from the floor. The guys did plenty of chipping, drilling, and chasing 😎W
WilderSueden4 Jun 2022 12:20There is nothing new to see about the house itself, but yesterday the team for the geothermal drilling arrived. In my mind, I imagined a small truck with the drill on a trailer. In reality, there was also a large compressor, three containers for the drilling mud, several trailers and trucks, plus an external supervisor. It’s a good thing most of the neighboring plots are still undeveloped...

Soil samples are still being taken every few meters.

Not much happened yesterday and today. I only wired the column, removed the lamp and mailbox from the temporary stand (pallet ;-) and mounted them properly. For the left half of the house, my brother completed the paving work. He had the more difficult situation because the (paved/parking) area in front of the house is at a higher level. On my side, it slopes downward, which makes adjusting the heights with water drainage much easier.
Also, about 1–1.5 m³ (1.3–2 cubic yards) of topsoil was delivered to a rear flower bed. The landscapers (who only did paving today) probably thought I was clueless since they are coming back next week with a mini excavator. For me, it was just some practice. 😉

This dusty, bare earth in front of the terrace really needs to go.

We have now experienced our first delay at the construction site. The floor insulation was unavailable, so work was halted for two weeks. Considering the pace of construction, that’s absolutely manageable.
From the outside, the house has been finished for weeks (masonry work started on January 5). We really like the brickwork, and the pointing looks neat. The photovoltaic system has also been installed for a while now. Although the modules are not full-black, I still find the appearance appealing.
The cables are only for the ground floor; there is a separate technical room on the upper floor. The floor is currently covered with numerous cables, pipes, and conduits. Access to the construction site is difficult at the moment.
The tiles were selected to match the kitchen cabinets, ordered, paid for, and will arrive in two weeks.
Both the tiler and painter have availability during the suitable timeframe. As good as this sounds, I hope it continues smoothly 🙂 Regarding the brickwork: is it just me, or does the surface appear uneven?

Oberhäslich4 Jun 2022 22:56@i_b_n_a_n I like the wooden ceiling. How is it made, what type of boards are used, and how are they fixed in place?
