@gmt94 What kind of surface will be placed under the "play area"? Grass as well, or do you have something different planned? We thought about it for a long time. Grass was quickly ruled out since I only sowed the seeds about six weeks ago. So, the setup would have trampled everything before the grass had a chance to grow properly. Also, I didn’t want to have to explain to my child that the playhouse is built but can only be used two months from now once the grass has fully grown. Additionally, grass tends to get worn paths quickly, leaving bare spots, and I really don’t want to deal with that.
Mulch was also dismissed fairly quickly. Proper wood chips are quite expensive.
We will now be adding about 8 tons of play sand, approximately 10 cm (4 inches) deep over the area. I plan to border it with round fence posts that can simply be placed upright as a natural edge.

how to measure 46.25 mm (1.82 inches)Carpenters work with millimeter precision, joiners use centimeters, and bricklayers are just happy to stay within the property boundaries.gmt94 schrieb:
Today, our fence was finally completed.
Yes, I know a welded wire mesh fence isn’t exactly a design masterpiece. But with 100 linear meters (330 feet), the budget just wouldn’t allow for more.
At least yours is in black. Our neighbors have one in green. That’s really hard on the eyes.
Hello,
Tip:
Don’t buy the material at a hardware store, but directly from a fuel supplier. Wood chips are usually burned in large heating systems; their use for covering garden beds or playgrounds is secondary. Two weeks ago, I paid 30 euros for 1.5 m³ (53 cubic feet), so it’s doable...
Best regards,
Andreas
