Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

We are unfortunately not that far along yet. Today, the foundation slab was poured, but starting Thursday, the project will finally begin to take on a three-dimensional shape. I hope the onset of winter holds off a bit longer. The goal for the year is to reach the basement ceiling.

The exterior walls are being quickly formed and poured, so that should be done by Christmas.

So now we have permanent frost – I hope it’s still warmer where you are.

During the day, temperatures are around 5°C (41°F), but at night it has already frozen. I hope the concrete can withstand this.

If this is taken into account, concrete can be given a kind of frost protection, so it performs well even at below-freezing temperatures.

The walls are formwork and poured... I have no idea about the costs, the architect and site manager/master builder planned that ops:

Silly question, but how are channels for cables/pipes etc. actually cut into concrete walls?
Compared to aerated concrete, it’s already quite difficult with brick.

Milled or cut. It is labor-intensive, so conduit pipes and boxes are often installed directly into the formwork.

I think the electrical boxes and conduits should be installed before pouring the concrete... at least that’s how we did it.
