It looks really cool, especially the color of the roof tiles. What exterior color are you using with it?A fairly light beige-orange-brown… should actually match very well togetherBookstar schrieb:
We moved in without a sink u Our only sink at the beginning was the one in the guest bathroom – and that only because my husband installed it (we simply liked the IKEA sink best – also in terms of price-performance ratio). Otherwise, we would have just kept the outdoor faucet by the door...
This was our lifesaver:

Ah:

A rather light beige-orange-brown. …although I can’t quite picture that color from the description—and if I do, it sounds a bit unusual *lol*—but I guess it will suit. Now it sounds like coffee blend with sea buckthorn juice.

However, pressure was steady from the start and didn’t drop
One shelf in the kitchen didn’t fit
Correction the day after the handover counts as complete without further rework OVERACHIEVER!!!!
Also, I wanted to add something to the pantry yes-or-no debate.
We do have a pantry—for me, no question about it.
If you remember: hidden behind a kitchen cabinet door, you can access the pantry directly from the kitchen:
And honestly, all the stuff I stored there, I wouldn’t want to keep in drawers and cupboards.
And the freezer chest is also conveniently within reach (which saves me a freezer compartment in the fridge and makes the fridge bigger).
Yesterday, our lighting technician was here again. Now we also have our outdoor lights on the balcony:
The small, dark boxes on the right and left next to the large window are up-and-down lights, and their angle can be adjusted individually. We would also do that—if there were power supplied there already *grmpf*
Our electrician is coming again today; he is supposed to turn on power everywhere now. If he has safety concerns, then all cables should just be protected with terminal blocks.
The railing won't stay like this—solar panels will be installed on top of it, and our exterior cladding will go around. I don’t think the railing inside is very impressive either; we’ll see what else I come up with.
On the open side, the balcony will be extended to the property line and will turn left into the terrace. But that’s still in the future. As long as the area behind the house is still a construction site and masonry work remains, the balcony will stay as it is. We still need to drive construction equipment back there, so it doesn’t make sense to build further now. For now, it mainly serves as a platform to install the solar panels.
And in the main bathroom, we finally have our main light!!!
As you can see, it works! Hooray!
It was a good choice—the light pointing upward really highlights the roof peak nicely and creates a great atmosphere.
This week, the electric heater for the bathroom should finally arrive, and on it will be our towel warmers for the shower towels; then we can finally hang them up properly and no longer drape them over the shower screen or bathtub edge.
And here’s a picture of my two cats who moved with us, in their current favorite spot, our bedroom:
At least not UNDER the bed this time! But yesterday the house was quite calm—the lighting technician was here only in the morning. That was rather relaxing for them.

Grobmutant6 Aug 2019 09:23@Climbee Congratulations on moving in!! The house turned out really great.
Is there a separate kitchen design available to see? And which type of hardwood flooring did you choose? It looks fantastic. (You’ve probably mentioned it somewhere, but I couldn’t find it quickly)

The parquet flooring is natural oiled oak (Holzhandel Glück from Adelzhausen).
We knew quite early on how we wanted it to be, and some details just worked out along the way (for example, a ceramic countertop was originally planned for the run along the window; however, since the run is 3.27 m (10 ft 9 in) long and ceramic countertops are only available up to 3.20 m (10 ft 6 in), this was replaced by a Corian countertop with an integrated sink).

Our main bathroom is still not finished. Just like in the guest bathroom below, the LED strips in the shower are still missing:

For THIS house (meaning the amazing house), this picture somehow hurts me. Why isn’t the wall on the right flush with the tile? Why is the handheld showerhead so squeezed into the corner? Why is the stool so small and asymmetrical? Something about the shower niche also bothers me.
And overall, I find the anthracite color too harsh for the bathroom/the house.
But as I said, this is really just complaining at a very high level...
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the cats come back, the contractors keep working, and you can soon take time off at home instead of at work.
