Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Nubert!!! That really beats the competition :p
Even I, as someone from Berlin, enjoy excellent sound coverage from Nubert in the open-plan living area.

Poor planning, I see a surface-mounted cable duct :p
When dealing with an existing property, you have to try to make the best out of what you have 🙂

The basement (old/new German terms: laundry room/utility room, man cave/home office, boiler room/technical room, hallway/entrance area, and storage rooms/???) is still mostly in its original condition and will probably be renovated over the next few years. Then floors, walls, ceilings, doors, etc., will be updated to match the rest of the house. But before that, there are other, more important projects 🙂. I’m already glad to have the cables running inside a duct. In “long past days,” these were laid partly across the room. In the living room/open-plan area, cable ducts would of course not be an option, meaning the cables go along the walls!

Nubert!!! That puts the devil’s stuff to shame :p

Once my sauna is finally installed in the garden, maybe a new sound system will come into the house ... or a motorcycle (?). Both ... ??? 😀

There might be spots in the room where you hardly get any bass, and others where standing waves create bass that is powerful but also uneven and boomy.
...
The main thing is that the bass sounds good on the couch 🙂
It would be fantastic if it stayed consistent there. But then I would probably have to acoustically isolate the room from the rest of the house.

But if it works for you, I don’t want to discourage you.

Don’t worry, I know it can (almost) always be improved!

It’s definitely a good system that’s sure to be a lot of fun.
Yep!

Fortunately, the plastering was completed before the big cold snap, and I was able to ventilate thoroughly. I am currently installing the heating system so that the screed can be poured in March. With the nice weather, it was a good opportunity to take some exterior photos.
Unfinished interior: cables, bucket, and materials on pallet, large windows.
