Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

@Tina mit K - the living room is really amazing. The bathtub also looks great, but the edge at the bottom that seems to be begging for a toothbrush makes my inner cleaning procrastinator rebel ^^

Ah, the floor will still go in there, and we specifically chose one that practically hides cat hair, dust, and dirt after practical testing, so it should be fine.

Yesterday, I took some photos from inside the balcony to illustrate why it makes more sense than having a privacy screen directly on the window or a window with a railing about 1m (3 feet) high. This way, the space feels much more open and generous.

Wooden terrace with balcony furniture, plant pot, and glass sliding door.

Bright dining room with wooden table and white chairs, dark pendant lamps; balcony visible.

Living room with balcony view: black leather sofa in the foreground, foot visible, table set and plants.

Living room with large glass sliding door to the terrace, leather sofa, wooden table, and balcony furniture.

At some point, lounge furniture or two bean bags will go there for a relaxed sundowner.

I just got a quick update from the living room and I’m so glad we hired a painter for the drywall filling and sanding instead of doing it ourselves

Yes!!! Shock and horror, we are building a house without underfloor heating. I've already called "schöner wohnen" to let them know they don’t need to come over.

Wow, this is going to be a tight fit ops:
We don’t have a basement but we do have the ground floor with an intermediate ceiling and are hoping to have the building envelope closed by Christmas. (The roof still needs to go on – hopefully the windows will be installed as well)
Regards
Yep, it’s definitely going to be tight, but if it takes until January, that’s no problem either
