Hello everyone,

we are currently starting to think about the bathroom.

For the bathtub, we want a 180 x 80 cm (71 x 31.5 inches) tub with a center drain and sufficient filling volume. There are tubs with relatively large external dimensions, but when you lie down, you can hardly fit both legs in the water.

We have now come across the Ideal Standard Hotline bathtub.

Based on the dimensions and description, it seems to have everything we need. I’m just a bit suspicious of the relatively low price...

So far, I have found the following criteria online:
- Sanitary acrylic (yes, we don’t want steel)
- Preferably reinforced rim and bottom

Can anyone say anything about this tub, or is there something hidden that makes it “low quality”?

Best regards

Since my link to the tub on the Ideal Standard website was removed, here is the exact designation:

Ideal Standard Hotline New Duo 180 x 80cm (71 x 31 inches)

How expensive or affordable should it be at the authorized dealer?

The bathtub costs around 200 euros.

But that is just a base online price without the mounting bracket or anything else. Who will install it and provide a warranty?

There are also complete packages available, including drainage, supports, and foam, for less than 300 euros.

Installation would then be a DIY job.
