Hello everyone,
Does anyone have experience with a freestanding bathtub?
It looks nice in inspiration photos, and my wife really wants to have one 🙂
The approximate floor plan is attached, about 12sqm (130sq ft).
Possible downsides might be:
- Are there really that many issues with dirt and cleaning, even if a sufficient distance from the wall is maintained?
- How does it look visually in a 12sqm (130sq ft) bathroom? Just as nice or rather inappropriate?
- How much more expensive is it compared to the standard built-in version? I understand the costs can vary widely, but for orientation: double, triple, ten times as expensive? Considering the installation of pipes and wiring under the screed, etc.
Thanks a lot for your opinions!
Best regards
NilsHolgersson

I believe the original OP is "durch" with the planning, first post from 01.07.22 – or am I mistaken?
Maybe of interest regarding possible prices: The freestanding faucet actually cost a bit more than the bathtub itself.
Together, they came to (excluding installation, etc.) just over 3,000.

You lucky person. 🙂 In our new house, we chose a longer and wider bathtub than before because I expected more comfort. I even tested it by lying in it without water. But now I hardly enjoy bathing anymore because the tub is too long for me, and no matter how hard I try to "stick" under the water surface, I just slide down. And when I try to resist, parts of my body end up above the water. That was a mistake on my part. I can only say, "Choose your bathtub carefully." ;-)
And I don’t want any plastic cushions or similar in the tub; the discomfort is not high enough for that. For now, I’m hoping for some kind of physical miracle. 🙂 Just get in the tub with your husband together 😉
