Hello, I am still looking for suggestions to improve our design.

We are not satisfied with the current arrangement of the windows, and the stove will also be removed.

Ground floor plan of a house with kitchen, dining, living room, utility room, hallway, WC, and garage.

First floor plan with hallway, 4 rooms, bathroom, and additional room; total area 68.92 m² (742 sq ft)

No children are expected yet, but probably will come in the future.

It wasn’t clear that you are planning to have children. The different bedrooms in the plan look more like placeholders at this stage.

It’s hard to assess the window arrangement without exterior views. However, I would definitely take another look at the bedroom: the wall length where the bed is placed seems to be less than 3 meters (about 10 feet). This means there isn’t adequate space for a bed with proper access on both sides. Most of the 18 square meters (about 194 square feet) seem to be in the front area where a wardrobe? is planned??? I would suggest placing the window on the east side in the bedroom—I don’t see why not—and then positioning the bed against the exterior wall. It’s also much nicer to see the bed when entering the room rather than sleeping next to the door or hallway area, which can feel exposed.

The sizes of the children’s rooms can be adjusted to match each other.

What does ZBV stand for?

If you actually prefer a closed kitchen, you should also be able to close it with a door. Anything else won’t make you happy!

Probably nowhere with a double-wing glass sliding door – unless it remains almost the only highlight

It doesn’t have to be glass. But I think it’s a nice solution if you can’t agree or don’t want to choose between the two options.

We have also considered a sliding door, and it is shown in the plans, but we were advised against it several times because it is too expensive and likely to be left open most of the time.

I don’t find 300,000€ just for the construction costs of the house particularly affordable. But apparently, in rural areas, that is considered "cheap."

What bothers you about the entrance area? For me, the staircase should be a bit shorter or moved further back.

You can’t just shorten a staircase.
But here’s the situation, whether it’s a landing or a quarter-turn staircase directly at the entrance area. This spot is almost always sandy or a bit dirty, so you have to walk through it to get to the bedrooms. This is uncomfortable for people barefoot or wearing just socks, and it’s also not good for the staircase.

Who advises against a sliding door? To save costs, you can also hang a door curtain, so it doesn’t have to be installed. There are nice materials available for that.
Between the kitchen and dining area, a simple visual barrier is enough; a small gap around it is acceptable.

Hello, our first floor is already built.

We could use some advice. Our bathroom is 2.76m (9 feet) wide, and we want to place a bathtub and a toilet along that wall. Is this width enough for a 180cm (71 inches) bathtub plus a toilet, or would it be too tight?

Is there a sloping roof anywhere?

276 - 180 = 96 cm (38 inches) .. should be enough for a toilet. I find 85 to 90 cm (33 to 35 inches) to be a good minimum dimension. Around the bathtub, there will also be some kind of partition wall, tiles, or similar.
