Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

We are making good progress.... The excavated soil has been backfilled, the ground floor is up, and tomorrow the ceiling will be installed. Today, I stood for the first time in the future garden.... absolutely huge

Either you got a bad batch of bricks or the masons are not working precisely. None of the rows have bricks properly aligned on top of each other. The plasterer is going to have a hard time. And I’ve never seen corners finished like that before (with the cut edges facing outward).

I had exactly the same thought @Zaba12
But it’s almost impossible to carry out the work like that, isn’t it?
What’s wrong there?

Everything is fine. They can do it either way, meaning that if they place the level on one side, the other side will look less precise. The bricks all have a height tolerance of about -1cm (0.4 inches) for an average person.

It really looks like they were completely out of their minds while doing the brickwork...

In my case, it didn’t look like that either outside or inside. They didn’t even manage to get the last row of bricks below the ceiling straight!

Maybe you got lucky with the bricks. Both the Wienerberger and the Juwö bricks have this variation. How are they supposed to get it right when one brick is 36.5cm (14.4 inches) wide at the bottom and 35.8cm (14.1 inches) at the top, or when the bricks have a curve in the middle?!
