Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

We will also have up-and-down lights on the front exterior wall—even though we have an irregular rhombus cladding. Of course, we tested this beforehand. Naturally, it looks different than on a smooth wall, but we like it.

That’s perfectly fine. The wall is intentionally uneven. However, it’s a different matter with plastered walls or facades. Only in grazing light do you really notice how unpleasant they can look.

The illuminated sloping ceiling is not plastered but made of whitewashed three-layer spruce boards.

We have indirect lighting behind a whitewashed three-layer spruce panel – I wouldn’t want to miss that anymore!
It must look great in your place!

The landscaping contractor was on site today. We will remove another 40cm (16 inches) of soil under the terrace. However, in front of the L-shaped retaining walls, we will install a continuous flower bed as a raised bed.

Does anyone know of an attractive anthracite paving stone for the terrace and driveway around 25€? Or a range from a manufacturer with large slabs for the terrace and standard pavers for the driveway?

The living room looks like this now.

Newly installed wood-look laminate flooring in a light brown shade; construction tools along the edge.

Check out Klostermann, they have very nice terrace slabs and, I believe, matching paving as well. But I’m not sure if €25 will be enough. Oops:
