Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The idea of having the shower drain and the slope directed into the room will never, ever work in practice! The water will definitely flow into the bathroom. Who sold you such a bad idea!?

I have to disagree and ask: Why would it? For water to flow beyond the shower drain, more water must come from the showerhead than the drain can handle.

This can only happen if the drain is clogged or if the drain was not properly selected.
I find the latter unlikely, as long as it’s a standard shower and not a car wash.

I think it’s unusual, but I don’t really see a reason why it wouldn’t work.
Based on your argument, water would always stand by the drain at the wall. But it doesn’t.

It certainly only works to some extent; it also does not prevent splash water.

Dear friends of home building,

After completing all preparations today, the geothermal drilling can begin tomorrow.

Best regards

That’s true, but the splash water won’t travel that far into the gutter. It’s strange that this concept is so unfamiliar here. Our tiler only does it this way and has received only positive feedback from all other homeowners.

Splash water needs to be directed away anyway, and the slope ensures the water drains properly.
I don’t see any advantages to having the shower drain at the front.
Visually, it’s a matter of personal preference,
and I prefer it when the drain is at the back.
