ᐅ Shower open on two sides

Hello,

I am considering leaving my shower open on two sides (with walls on the left and right approximately 1 meter (3 feet) apart and about 2 meters (6.5 feet) long).

Does anyone have experience with this? Is 2 meters (6.5 feet) enough, or should I plan for more?

Thanks

and we always splashed about 40cm (15.7 inches) in front of the shower.

A sauna towel in front of it takes care of that 😉

I also worry that many women might find it too cold, since the surrounding air can flow freely through the shower area.

Actually, it’s the opposite 😀

I’ve been using this type of shower for years and it was simply wonderful—not freezing—because the heat doesn’t get trapped inside a cabin. It only gets cold when you open the shower door; besides, with the shower open, the mirror doesn’t fog up. Also, the lower maintenance effort shouldn’t be underestimated; just use a squeegee on the tiles and you’re done.

We are about to renovate our bathroom, and one thing is certain: no shower door will be installed; maybe we’ll even go with the original poster’s idea. I find it an interesting concept, especially since we have plenty of space.

We have that ;-)

Are we sure we are talking about the same thing? Our shower is also open on one side—completely without a door. I think that’s wonderful. But open on two sides?!?

Yes, I imagine that would feel quite open; we would have enough space as well.

That's what I was saying ;-)

Spacious in the sense of "more" room; not in the sense of cold ;-)

Yes, the question is how far the water actually splashes with a proper rain screen (everyone seems to say something different).
I can also angle the tiles beyond the wall so that the water flows back, and the second wall would be continuous anyway.
It would be interesting if someone has done something like this before and possibly also has photos.
It would really fit well with my room layout.
