Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Now I’m sharing the current status of our house.

I was at the construction site today and was shocked to find that the heavy rain on Friday washed away the basement insulation. We were actually planning to backfill tomorrow. Looks like that won’t happen...

Why aren’t the light wells installed on top of the perimeter insulation? That creates a serious thermal bridge, doesn’t it?

That creates quite a thermal bridge, doesn’t it?

That’s right, in our case they were also fixed onto insulation boards.

I would have at least routed the conduits in the ceiling at right angles; as it is now, it’s a guessing game afterward where everything is—in case of any issues.

Today, the ground floor precast concrete slab is being installed. This evening and tomorrow, conduits will be laid again, and on Friday the slab will be poured. Next week, work can then continue with the upper floor.
