West and south side – looks bigger here than it is, as the footprint equals the living area:
East and north side, our sleeping area still has a convertible feel, the opening for the round window is still closed.
East and south side, the boys’ apartments in the foreground, you can already see the sleeping loft.

Mottenhausen28 Mar 2019 08:52The location and size of the property are truly enviable! You really have a great piece of land and an excellent house built on it. I originally wanted to post a picture of our construction start and the initial progress, but after seeing pictures like hampshire’s, you can only smile wryly at our little witch's cottage.

The location and size of the property are truly enviable! Thank you. The location is really stunning. The size is comparable to the other houses around here. For my wife and me, there is about 115 square meters (1,237 square feet), and each of the boys has roughly 30 square meters (323 square feet). The house feels quite large since, due to the hillside setting, the living area equals the footprint—basically a hillside bungalow with a pitched roof. What stands out a bit is the price per square meter (square foot).
I’m looking forward to seeing your pictures. We are all making a dream come true here and sharing that experience.

The conditions are often different. Our outdoor area is not finished yet; despite doing much of the work ourselves, we will probably spend another 30,000 to 50,000 in the next 2 to 3 years on it. Still, looking at our budget, if I were to build in the area where my brother-in-law is searching, yes, a Flair 125 or 148 with a carport would fit well in our garden by the terrace.
@hampshire is building something more unconventional. He also has different requirements. Many people build for 2 to 3 children planned over the coming years—that means a baby, toddler, and lost income.
He is planning for older children. His house doesn’t work well for a baby, toddler, and a dog. He tries to keep his children close while giving them the freedom that 20-year-olds naturally need. A house for the family and a house for a couple.
