A separate heating circuit for the pictured interior hallway would be a bit excessive as well. [...] At most, the pipes could be distributed more evenly, which would eliminate temperature differences. That is also my impression—that here, quite reasonably, the hallway simply shares the heat as a passage to the rooms to be heated (and that it could be arranged more “neatly”). But trying to close the gap with extra loops would probably be counterproductive.

That was the window of my study, and the desk was placed there I can see a sensible idea behind that. Still, it nicely illustrates the quirks that can result from planning each façade separately. In reality, you almost never look at them purely straight on, nor usually from inside the same room individually.

Yes, it is fixed glass.
I have a question regarding this: If I request quotes from different window manufacturers for the same opening in the shell construction, is it possible that the actual glass area will differ (due to frames with different thicknesses), or are they all the same? Which manufacturers offer "thin" frames?
The frame needs to provide the torsional rigidity somewhere. Profile systems that allow for windows with opening sashes are limited in how slim they can be. A profile width of, for example, 76 to 88 mm (3 to 3.5 inches) does not make much of a difference.
