Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

To me, it looks like the pillar is completely in the way when you come up the stairs
Yes, unfortunately, it is quite close. We were aware of that and accepted it. We had to make some compromise, and this was the one.

Although in the picture it looks like there is only 30cm (12 inches) of space left. There is actually a bit more than that.

Final Stretch:

This week, the ventilation system, electric meter, and hot water boiler were installed. Heating/plumbing/ventilation is now complete, electrical work is ongoing, but the electrician will need to come back after we move in to finish some work in the kitchen, activate the ventilation system, and wire the door station and ekey.

The bus system is running perfectly as intended. The roller shutters and blinds worked immediately. The extensive learning process for KNX has definitely paid off by now. Especially my wife is very impressed and relieved that I managed to get everything working. She had been quite worried about it all. ^^

The roof terrace is also finished; I took advantage of the nice weather to install the lights.
The access path and carport have been filled and compacted. That’s enough for this year; next year we’ll pave it.

This weekend we will paint the main bathroom and the base area in the utility room.
Then we can set up the sanitary fixtures and shelves there so everything is ready for moving in.
On Monday, the kitchen will be installed, and the carpenter will start working on the stairs.

Everything is going well again at the moment, but it has to—after all, we want to move in within two weeks.

Now I remember why I don't like installing upside-down spotlights on the facade... The grazing light they create really doesn't look good.

Yes, of course, it’s a matter of personal preference.
But for us, it’s not a problem at all. I pay attention to many details, but the texture of a plastered wall really doesn’t matter much to me. That’s why we didn’t choose a higher-grade interior plaster.
If you hadn’t mentioned it, I probably wouldn’t have noticed.

I don’t really notice that either. Smooth, too smooth, overly smooth... I’d prefer edges and corners, grooves and textures instead.
