It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

The pictures show the foundation slab ready for concrete pouring and after the pour completed today.

I discussed this question today with my master bricklayer. For him, it was simply a matter of height. The concrete slab is 30cm (12 inches) thick.

The following photo shows how additional height can be gained depending on the position of the spacers.

The screed has been applied. It is 8.5 cm (3.3 inches) thick.
