And the argument that a house is inherently unsuitable for good sound would basically mean it’s better not to set anything up at all. It’s still a house to live in.I got interested in car audio because of the systems mentioned by hampshire, found in many OEM amplifiers or radios, which are measured and corrected much more complexly. Yet, the best-sounding car system I know only used EQ with FIR filters.
Placing speakers in the corner is not necessarily the best acoustic solution… but it can work well for background music in the kitchen and dining area. The center speaker, on the other hand, is often highly overrated.
A 6x3 setup would be so-so again. 🙄
My intention was simply to point out that small acoustic improvements often bring much more benefit than replacing hundreds-of-dollar speakers with ones costing thousands, only to then try to adjust the sound afterward. Just enjoy it if it sounds good, but without proper acoustics, no matter how expensive the speakers were, there is still a lot of room for improvement.
