My ex immediately destroyed my entire box of handwritten love letters and holiday/memory photos of my exes, of course adapted to the times back then, as soon as she found it 😡
I noticed it too late to save them. Oh, that’s unfortunate. 😕 The past is part of a person too; it’s all made us who we are today.
I still have some really nice things in a box upstairs. My first “love letter” on a Diddl postcard from 6th grade. And a note that says, “Doctor’s appointment tomorrow. I’ll drive you there. Dad” — I put that in because I found it funny that he signed it “Dad.” Now, since he’s no longer alive, it’s such a beautiful memory. ♥

And it’s only now ending up in the trash?

Strahleman10 Apr 2021 20:47Since the last update in mid-January, quite a lot has happened on our side:
Windows have been installed, the air conditioning system has been prepared, the electrical installation is completed, and the plumbing will be finished early next week. By the end of the week, the plasterers will come to work inside the house. In May, as part of our own work, we will install our photovoltaic system and lay the underfloor heating.
Of course, it hasn’t been without obstacles... During winter, we noticed a damp spot on the basement floor that just wouldn’t go away. We initially hoped it was condensation dripping from the ceiling. However, our building expert identified it as a leak in the waterproof concrete tank (white tank). This week, concrete repair specialists were still on site and sealed the leaking area with epoxy resin. The required sump pump system currently exists only on paper, in the drainage application. Somehow there was quite a bit of deception involved, and the construction company is washing their hands of it. Now it’s up to us (and our semi-detached neighbors) to find a suitable pump...
