Next week, the underfloor heating and interior plaster will be installed, followed by the screed in mid-September. You didn’t have a floor plan thread, right? We want to design the attic space very similarly. Do you have any pictures or measurements there that you could share?

The color looks good! Which exact one did you choose? Please also share some details about the plaster. Which one from your selection did you go with? The coarser or the finer texture?
Thanks! miniWe were provided with a lot of samples and colors. I’ll have to check if we can find out the exact color again, since the decision was made on site together with the plasterer and the architect based on the samples. Unfortunately, he has already taken the sample back, and we also returned the color palette.
Regarding the texture, the sample we had was a 1.5mm grain size, but the plasterer suggested that a 1mm grain size would look better. Since we have been very well advised by him so far, we trusted his recommendation and chose the 1mm grain size.

So, did you put up scaffolding again just for the final coat?
Just kidding, I don’t really know much about this type of plaster. It wouldn’t be my choice. Maybe as an accent on a certain section.
What I’m curious about is the application. When you zoom into the pictures, you can still see some trowel marks; sometimes it looks almost smooth, other times more textured. Sometimes there are “blemishes.” Is this normal or is it due to the workmanship? At the very beginning, our architect showed us a building in town finished with a similar broom finish plaster. At first, we didn’t like it at all. Then we kept seeing the classic smooth plaster on buildings around town and thought “boring.”That’s when the idea really took hold. The smooth finish seemed too dull for us, also based on a corresponding sample. The broom finish was a gamble. We knew it wouldn’t look perfect. Given the way it’s applied, I find that hard to imagine anyway. Now, the “grooves” are not perfectly parallel to each other.
We were really unsure if we had made the right decision. Now that the scaffolding is gone and the final result can really be seen, we are completely happy.
The color complements the roof, windows, and external blinds/shutters perfectly, and the imperfections actually make it more interesting for us.
If it’s not your style, then we all did the right thing. Not because we didn’t want others to like it, but simply because we wanted something different. We knew it wouldn’t appeal to everyone.
We are very happy with our choice.

Mainly because I only joined this forum after the floor plan was already finalized. Also partly because I know how tough the respected members here can be xD
If there is interest, I’m happy to upload the floor plans. Although it’s probably a bit late now
Better to post them here or in a separate thread?

Is it better to post them here or in a separate thread? I would love that. A separate thread would probably suit the floor plan better.
