The staircase from the 1980s is less about the design being questionable, as some people do like yellow cars with blue seats. Tastes vary...
The main issue occurred during the floor plan creation. Only the designer can answer why. However, such staircases are more typical for townhouses and less common in detached single-family homes.
But it doesn’t really matter now, as it’s around the corner anyway, and the homeowners don’t mind, so it’s no big deal.

hampshire24 Jul 2019 22:25@ypg : Yes, a railing still needs to be installed there. We'll see how much of it we'll have to remove again after the final inspection... I don't like railings and need about 22m (72 feet) inside and 38m (125 feet) outside. Such a waste of money.

hampshire25 Jul 2019 00:17I also have some front door pictures: The guys went with green and blue doors, while we chose a red front door. The handle is recessed, and we thought the round window was a good idea.
