@j.bautsch: The topic is glued laminated strips anyway, so there will always be variations between the individual strips. That means when joining two large panels, you don’t do anything different.
It’s a different story if you want a solid wood board made from a single piece of timber, because for a depth of 90cm (35 inches) you’d need a very large tree. Such boards do exist, but they’re not common and tend to be quite expensive.
