Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Not every puddle is necessarily a construction defect.
I grew up in a new housing development myself, and when I think back to what we got up to on the construction sites ... dumdidum.

Yes, from the house. We are considering designing our house in a similar way.

43 cm (17 inches) exactly, so that the insulation could be installed. Zero clearance was not possible.

My German teacher would have said: "please speak in complete sentences!" – 43 cm knee wall to install insulation? – I don’t understand that: the knee wall is normally measured from the top edge of the finished floor, so including everything built into the floor, right(?)

@11ant: Incorrect, the knee wall refers to the height of the last wall starting from the unfinished floor level, on which the wall plate for the roof rests. It is often constructed as a ring beam.

Exactly, and this section of the wall is what I meant. It is 43cm high (17 inches). The architect also referred to it as the knee wall.

We actually didn’t want one, but it wasn’t possible. In our case, the floor is not insulated; instead, the roof itself is insulated. Since it is a passive house, the insulation is accordingly thick.
