Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

So, I’m a bit puzzled. The photo was taken by my wife while I was at work. Apparently, she can work magic with the telephoto lens. The living area of the ground floor, as it currently stands, is just 61.16 m² (658 sq ft); the extension for the living room and office is still missing. So, it’s neither a “palace” nor a “multi-family house.”

Best regards

Axel

If you don’t notice the worker (somehow overlooked), you might think all the windows are floor-to-ceiling... which visually makes the house appear larger [emoji23]

It's great if she can make everything look bigger and better...

The bargain price of 9.90 compared to the main tile might save only a few hundred in total area, but I bet you’ll regret that later.

I wanted to come back to this earlier, but I’ve only just gotten back to my computer after moving.
With the white tile (which we had something similar to in our apartment, and where dust is generally not a major issue), the price difference is not just 5 or 10 euros. The tile cost 3.50€/sqm (about $3.80/sqft), the large gray tile cost 47.50€/sqm (about $52/sqft). Plus, I can install 30x30cm (12x12 inches) tiles myself, but not 60x60cm (24x24 inches). So, we’re talking about roughly a 1000€ (about $1100) saving for that room. It’s a basement room where, even in 20 years, I won’t really care what tile color is there.
I’m not sure what I would regret about that; it’s not a living space. It’s where things are stored that aren’t used daily along with the fridge/freezer.

There are other things I would more likely regret or have regrets about.
