Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Strange that many see it differently, but you are probably right.

Who would think otherwise?
I've never heard of placing a bathtub directly on the screed. It also doesn't make sense to install underfloor heating beneath it in a styrofoam block. Instead, you use supports, allowing the underfloor heating to run underneath the tub, although the tub would still stand on the raw ceiling.

I think "many" is a bit of an exaggeration. A shower base directly on the raw subfloor is common practice in single-family houses. The screed settles under load, which then causes partial-elastic joints to crack. Not to mention the low entry height.

It continues.

The screed has been poured...

Finally, you get a real sense of the room dimensions and ceiling heights... wonderful.

Here is a brief update from me as well.

Over the past two weeks, the underfloor heating was installed and the screed was poured. Now, it needs to air-dry for two weeks, followed by a further two to three weeks of gradual heating.

Underfloor heating: heating pipes laid in loops on insulation layer indoors.
