Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Our thermostats are also installed separately above but not staggered

I think "slightly staggered" refers to the gap that appears between the two frames of a) the light switch and b) the thermostat.

Why isn’t this done within a single frame? Up to four units are possible. Three are needed: light switch, power outlet, and then the thermostat.
I don’t see any reason to separate them.

I thought it would make sense if you want to install a separate thermostat, such as a Nest.

perhaps to prevent the thermostat from being placed directly on the thick cable bundle for lighting and sockets. The cable bundle generates heat, which can affect the thermostat reading. For us, it was 3°C (37°F). The thermostat was reset and that solved the issue.

So, we also have a 5-gang switch with a thermostat in one place. I don’t quite understand the purpose of separating them. In my opinion, the separation looks quite bad visually (a 5-gang frame is not great anyway, but it is what it is...).

Yeah, yeah...

Separated and offset really looks ridiculous. I don’t know what got into our electrician back then...

But as they say: "You get used to it..."

It's the same for us, and it was explained back then that it's more accurate with a thermostat.

Well, there are worse things, aren't there?
