Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

@Nordlys: Does the neighbor have a basement, or what is the purpose of that full-story high mound?

No, it wasn’t supposed to go that deep below the street. The slope here is quite steep. As far as I know, nobody around here has a basement.

We're moving forward with our project now as well
Unfinished building with scaffolding; in the foreground wooden roof structure and construction timber.

Today we seeded the lawn. Last autumn it was always too wet, but now the conditions are right. It will be green soon, looking forward to it. Karsten
I just reordered 10kg (22 lbs). How much did you use, or what is the area in square meters?

There are about 300 sqm (3,229 sq ft) of grassland, 12 kg (26 lbs) is enough, we had a 15 kg (33 lbs) bag that is not empty.
It was thoroughly cultivated with a broadfork, stones were removed, smoothed with a rotary harrow, sown with a seed drill, then lightly cultivated again, removing stones once more. The rest is up to nature. It rained last night, smile.

Two years ago, we applied three 15-kilogram (33-pound) bags over nearly 800 square meters (8,611 square feet) of lawn. Beforehand, we used a rototiller to prepare the soil, levelled everything, removed stones, then sowed the seed, raked it in, and rolled it. We watered it thoroughly— which looked a bit strange at times, as it was midsummer and very dry for several days. Everywhere else the grass was yellow, but ours stayed a healthy green ^^ (cheers to having our own well).
