Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Definitely NO. I have to admit that the recirculation mode works better (with regularly replaced filters) – even though I used to prefer exhaust ventilation. That was only because I found changing the filters annoying (and still do).

That goes against my expectations. Anything that removes odors through ventilation (assuming the ventilation strength is the same in both cases) should always be better than just filtering them, right? Because a filter can never remove 100% of odors.
100% (by ventilation) > xx % by filtering

Just like disinfectant sprays only remove 99% of viruses, fungi, and bacteria, never 100%.

Or rather, we would simply screw the legs of the dishwasher back in, and then it can be pulled forward.

That’s not correct; the legs of the dishwasher will still be resting on the floor, and the floor covering is in front of them.

If I remember correctly, there are exhaust systems that have a cover at the outlet. In other words, they are only open when they are switched on.
It's called a "Thermobox," and the manufacturer is Naber. We installed it, and it works great!

Mistaken assumption, the dishwasher’s legs still rest on the floor, and the floor covering lies in front of them.

But if the legs are retracted and you lift the dishwasher, the legs are off the floor and you can pull it out from the front. Let’s agree that we have different opinions on this. It’s not worth continuing this “discussion” since we will follow the manufacturer’s specifications for the floor and won’t make any further changes to the kitchen.

Then you can tilt it and lift it over the threshold. Depending on the dishwasher and countertop height, loosening the legs can provide about 10cm (4 inches) of clearance above.

I would rather make sure that the baseboard fits over the laminate flooring without trimming, so that the flooring doesn’t need to be installed later. In other words, screw the legs a bit higher and lay the flooring tight against it; otherwise, you can only remove the baseboard if the flooring underneath is also removed.

Then don’t let a living room cabinet become too heavy with books.
