Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

It does work.
You just have to press two buttons whenever you want water from above.
(I just thought I’d let you know in case you can still swap it out.)
I can gladly send you a picture tonight showing how it looks on my end.
Exactly the same layout.

And remember that you need the high-flow valve for the waterfall.

Climbee, you recently mentioned yourselves that you might be frustrated about minor issues because everything else has gone so well. We’ve had the same experience. And the amount of small things we ended up discussing. With some distance, it becomes easier to see this, but you’re right in the middle of it now. I just want to point out that the end is in sight, everything will work out, and it’s actually a good thing that it’s mostly just small stuff (even though things like the railing or the plumbing problems are really annoying and unnecessary).

I also think that otherwise minor issues tend to look bigger in an otherwise smooth process. From my perspective, the plumbing matters are really just small details.

However, I see the railing differently; it is quite unattractive. Did he provide any reasons why, according to him, it can’t be done differently? Why should there necessarily be such problems at the edge areas—apparently it wasn’t properly glued there? You can’t really see the screws at the attachment in the picture, but it is clear that they are not all exactly parallel. You probably only notice this if you know what to look for or have an eye for it, but in this price range, that’s something that shouldn’t happen. The biggest issue seems to be the bonding at the edges, and I would definitely follow up on that!

@Climbee The bubbles in the safety glass are definitely not normal. We don’t have anything like that, and I haven’t seen it at friends’ places either.

I don’t want to accuse anyone, but it seems more like they are trying to sell you substandard material. I wouldn’t accept or pay for it.

Safety glass is available without bubbles. You can see it in every bank, at every airport, and in beach bars...
You can expect it to be bubble-free. If it were not bubble-free, that would be a case of incorrect advice.
